Inside Cape Henlopen State Park’s historic Officer’s Club, this fireside chat examines the tension between external threats and fears closer to home during the years Fort Miles guarded the Delaware coast. The program connects military history with civilian experience, asking how wartime vigilance shaped everyday life and ideas of loyalty.
Presented by Delaware historical interpreters, the conversation offers an intimate way to experience the park’s layered history beyond the batteries and bunkers. Its setting and subject make it a distinctly coastal heritage experience.
Two free sessions are offered: Friday, November 20, 5–6 p.m., and Saturday, November 21, 10–11 a.m. Space is limited; preregistration is required at 302-644-5007. Standard park entrance fees apply.
